Early Act at Baden Powell

TARNEIT students have signed on as junior Rotarians in a Victorian first.

Baden Powell College has formed EarlyAct - the first junior Rotary club in the state.

Sixteen grade 5 and 6 students are part of the club, which will meet fortnightly and complete three projects.

The club is sponsored by the Wyndham Rotary Club.

Principal Julie Mason said Rotary was a group of people who shared a desire to make a positive difference in their community.

Ms Mason said three EarlyAct projects had been identified.

One is a school-based project where students will set up a litter management program.

The second is a community project where the group will support younger preschool children with reading and the third is an international project where the group will raise money to build a toilet block for a school in Bangladesh.

State Rose Garden Entrance

The new entrance to the State Rose Garden is complete and the club can feel quite proud as we contributed enormously in cash and in-kind.
