Donations-In-Kind is a Rotary initiative to provide support to developing countries through the donations of goods and materials. On Saturday morning a group of members visited the DIK store in West Footscray to lend a hand and make a donation from the club of $750 to help with the cost of shipping containers. During the visit we sorted and stacked chairs on to pallets, helped sort boxes of stationary and library supplies, and unload mattresses into the store, prior to them being packed in containers. During the visit we saw other groups busily preparing goods for shipping to Somoa and Tanzania and packing a container for Fiji. DIK is a tremendous asset for Rotary and other organisations and a great way to get involved in hands-on helping out with aid to other countries.
