Tennis night

Recently we saw many of our members enjoy an ejoyable evening of Social tennis at the Werribee Tennis Club

Members - having being inspired by those at Rod laver Arena played many fine rallies, served the odd Ace or two and struck many

"down the line" passing shots

A BBQ cooked by the "Marshall Master Chefs" followed

Thanks to those that bought Sweets ,Salads and those  members that provided raquets & tennis  balls for the evening

A collection of tennis balls hit "over" the fence was made at the end of the evening

Bunning’s BBQ brings out the teamwork

The first Bunnings BBQ fundraiser for the Rotary year brought the best out in the 25-person team as they cooked their way through over 1200 sausages – across 5 x 2-hour shifts. The end result was very satisfying and will enable the club to invest in a number of youth leadership and other projects across the Wyndham community. Many thanks to our co-ordinator, John Campbell, for his excellent organisation and leadership throughout the event. Our thanks also to Bunnings for allowing the club (and other organisations) to raise funds in this way. alt

Car Parking Fundraiser

There are always worthy causes that our Rotary club wants to support and we get a lot of satisfaction in being able to help. But that means we have to raise funds , and our club has a policy of working for the funds we raise. Staffing the carparking and marshalling at various events is one of the ways we raise funds - for triathlons, charity days, and community event functions. Most recently the club staffed the parking for a concert at Werribee Park - Legends of Rock - where 14 members of the club did 4- 5 hour shifts - greeting people with a smile and dispatching them in a similar manner. From this project we raised sufficient funds to provide a weekly breakfast program for 60 children in the primary and secondary schools in a country town that has been doing it tough through a long drought and then a flood. This is one of the many local, national, and international projects in which the club is involved. If you want to make a difference in the community, enquire about joining the Rotary club near you.
